Morocco international Amir Richardson has officially completed a return to French club Le Havre, reuniting with the team where he began his professional journey and where he made a name for himself in French football.

The talented midfielder will once again wear Le Havre’s famous sky-blue and navy colours during the 2026/27 season, marking a special homecoming for a player who still shares a strong bond with the club and its supporters.

Richardson previously left Le Havre in 2023 after playing a key role in the club’s successful campaign that saw them crowned French Ligue 2 champions. His performances during that historic season helped Le Havre secure promotion to the top flight, while also establishing him as one of the most promising young midfielders in French football.

Following his departure, Richardson joined Stade Reims for the 2023/24 season, where he continued his development and gained valuable experience at the highest level of French football.

His impressive progress also earned him recognition on the international stage. The midfielder represented Morocco at the Olympic Games, helping the Atlas Lions secure a bronze medal before making the next step in his career with a move to Italian Serie A side Fiorentina.

During his first season in Italy, Richardson enjoyed valuable exposure in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues. The 24-year-old featured 39 times across all competitions, including appearances in Serie A and the UEFA Europa League, gaining further experience against top-level opposition.

However, the second half of last season saw him move on loan to Danish giants FC Copenhagen, where he continued to develop and maintain his competitive rhythm.

Now, Richardson returns to Le Havre as a more experienced and mature player, having grown from a promising academy talent into a full Moroccan international. The club believes his return represents more than just a transfer move, but rather the reunion of a player with the place where his football journey began.

Le Havre highlighted Richardson’s evolution since he first joined the senior team, noting that the midfielder has developed physically and now stands at an impressive height of 2.00 metres. Between 2019 and 2023, he made 69 appearances for the club’s first team before embarking on his journey elsewhere.

The midfielder was delighted with his return, describing the move as a homecoming and expressing his excitement about wearing the Le Havre shirt once again.

His emotional words resonated strongly with supporters, many of whom still remember his important contributions during the club’s Ligue 2 title-winning campaign and regard him as one of their most cherished players in recent years.

As a sign of the strong connection between the player and the club, Le Havre have chosen Richardson as one of the faces of their new 2026/27 season kit launch. The decision reflects his status as a fan favourite and his deep association with the club’s identity.

Richardson will spend the upcoming season at Le Havre on loan from Italian side Fiorentina, as he looks to continue his development, regain consistency and play a central role in helping his boyhood club achieve its ambitions in French football.
