FIFA’s November 2024 rankings saw Morocco retain its position as Africa’s highest-ranked team, despite dropping one spot globally to 14th. The Atlas Lions secured decisive victories against Gabon (5-1) and Lesotho (7-0) during the international break but were outperformed in points gained by Uruguay, which jumped three places to 11th.
Algeria moved ahead of Nigeria into Africa’s fourth spot and maintained its global rank at 37th.
Nigeria’s struggles, including a draw with Benin and a loss to Rwanda, saw the Super Eagles drop eight places globally to 44th, now fifth in Africa.
Niger emerged as the standout performer, achieving the month’s biggest progression in points and places.
Victories against Sudan (4-0) and Ghana (2-1) helped the nation climb nine spots to 122nd globally and 34th in Africa.
