Laayoune Half Marathon Set for November 23 with International Lineup
The 16th edition of the Laayoune Half Marathon is scheduled to take place on November 23 in Western Sahara, according to APA News. The event is set to bring together around 3,000 athletes, including both men and women, from 12 countries.
Nations confirmed to participate include Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Eritrea, Algeria, France, Russia, Spain, Mauritania, Tunisia, and host country Morocco.
Among the elite runners expected is Milton Rotich, the Kenyan athlete who previously won the Swedish Half-Marathon and the 2013 Grand Casablanca International Marathon.
This year’s race will be held under the theme: “Sport in the Service of Development.” The event aims not only to showcase athletic talent but also to emphasize the role of sports in promoting regional and international cooperation, health, and community development.
