Morocco has reaffirmed its readiness to host major continental competitions at short notice, following the recent postponement decision taken by Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour said the decision to delay the tournament was beyond the country’s control, stressing that it was made by the continent’s football governing body.

“That was a decision made at the Confederation of African Football (Caf),” Mezzour told BBC Sport Africa.

Despite the change in schedule, the minister insisted that Morocco remains fully prepared to step in and organise the competition at any time.

“What I know is Morocco is always ready to host any competition, any time, and we will be very proud and very happy to host it, be it this month or within three months,” he added.

Morocco’s confidence reflects years of sustained investment in sports infrastructure and event management, with the country increasingly positioning itself as one of Africa’s leading destinations for international tournaments.

Its ability to mobilise resources quickly and deliver high-quality hosting has earned it growing trust within African and global football circles.

With several major events on the horizon, Morocco’s stance sends a clear message: whenever called upon, it stands ready to deliver on the continental stage.
