Morocco hammer Uganda 4-0 in pre-AFCON warm up game

Morocco put up a top performance on Tuesday, beating Uganda 4-0 in a warm-up game at Grand Stade de Tanger ahead of next month’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Atlas Lions got off to a flying start when Uganda’s defender Achai inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in the 9th minute.

Morocco doubled the lead in the 33rd minute through Ilias Saibari, who finished with composure following a precise pass from Noussair Mazraoui.

In the second half, Soufiane Rahimi converted a penalty in the 78th minute to make it 3-0, and Bilal El Khannouss added the fourth in the 88th minute, sealing a dominant performance.

Uganda struggled to create chances, failing to register a single shot on target and managing only two attempts overall. Morocco also earned five corners while committing ten fouls, highlighting their control throughout the match.

The victory extends Morocco’s unprecedented winning streak to 18 consecutive matches. It is the longest in international football history, surpassing previous records held by Spain and Germany.

The run spans World Cup qualifiers, AFCON qualifiers, and friendly matches, showcasing the team’s consistency under coach Walid Regragui.

Earlier in November, Morocco beat Mozambique 1-0, and these successive wins provide strong momentum as the hosts prepare for AFCON 2025.

The continental showpiece is scheduled to kick off on December 21.
