Al-Hilal have provided an update on the fitness of several players, with Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bonou returning to the club carrying an injury sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In a statement shared on the club’s official X account, Al-Hilal confirmed that Bonou reported to the medical clinic at the club’s headquarters after suffering an anterior thigh muscle injury following his participation with the Moroccan national team.
The club revealed that the goalkeeper will undergo an MRI scan to determine the extent and exact location of the injury.
Al-Hilal had recently welcomed back both Bonou and Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly after their involvement in the AFCON tournament, where they featured in the latter stages of the competition.
The club also provided updates on other members of the squad, confirming that captain Salem Al-Dawsari has continued his treatment and rehabilitation programme.
According to the statement, the Saudi international is undergoing physical preparation alongside ball-based fitness exercises as part of his recovery process.
Meanwhile, Turkish defender Yusuf Akcicek was absent from the latest training session due to pain in his adductor muscle, with the medical staff closely monitoring his condition.
Al-Hilal are currently preparing for their upcoming Saudi Pro League fixture against Al-Fayha, scheduled for Thursday, as part of the seventeenth round of the league season.
