Moroccan international Yanis El Bakraoui continues to enjoy a remarkable season with Portuguese side Estoril Praia, firmly establishing himself as one of the standout goal scorers in the Primeira Liga.
The Moroccan U-23 national team striker has been in outstanding form, delivering decisive goals that have driven Estoril’s campaign forward. His latest eye-catching performance came in the 19th round of the league, where he netted a superb brace in Estoril’s emphatic 4–2 victory over Vitória, further underlining his growing influence in Portuguese football.
With 13 goals to his name, El Bakraoui now sits third on the Primeira Liga’s top scorers chart, placing him firmly in the thick of a fiercely competitive Golden Boot race. He trails Sporting Lisbon’s Luis Javier Soares and Benfica’s Greek forward Vangelis Pavlidis, who currently share the lead with 17 goals apiece.
Elsewhere in the league, another young Moroccan forward is also making his mark. Yasser Zabiri, who turns out for Famalicão, is ranked 25th among the top scorers after finding the net four times since the start of the season, a promising return that highlights his potential.
El Bakraoui’s impressive goal haul is further evidence of the rising impact of Moroccan footballers across Europe, particularly in Portugal, a league that has increasingly become a fertile ground for nurturing and showcasing emerging talent.
The 24-year-old striker has already tasted international success, having previously lifted a major title with the Moroccan national team, a milestone that continues to shape his confidence and ambition on the European stage.
