Morocco forward Sanaa Mssoudy joins FC Fleury 91 after historic AS FAR Rabat spell

Sanaa Mssoudy, one of the senior figures in Morocco’s women’s team, has joined French club FC Fleury 91 on a two-year contract after 11 seasons with AS FAR Rabat.

The move was confirmed by FC Fleury 91 on Wednesday, shortly after Mssoudy helped Morocco finish fourth at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026, which was staged on home soil.

The 26-year-old forward leaves AS FAR Rabat having established herself as one of the leading players in African club football. She has won 10 league titles, nine Throne Cups and two CAF Champions League trophies with the Moroccan side, lifting the continental title in 2022 and again in 2025.

Mssoudy was also named the best African interclub player in both 2024 and 2025. Her arrival in the Orge Valley represents one of the most notable transfers involving a Moroccan international during the current window.

Able to play on the wing or in an attacking midfield role, Mssoudy was a regular starter for Morocco during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. She scored her only goal of the tournament against Algeria in the second round of the group stage on 30 July.

With the match level late on, she struck in the 84th minute to give Morocco a 1-0 victory and secure an important result against their North African rivals.

Morocco met Algeria again in the match for third place, but Mssoudy was unavailable after accumulating yellow cards. The hosts eventually lost 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, leaving them fourth in the competition.

Her transfer to France was warmly welcomed by several of her Morocco team-mates. National captain Ghizlane Chebbak was among those to celebrate the move, alongside Hanane Ait El Haj, Khadija Er-Rmichi, Imane Saoud and Elodie Nakkach.

Mssoudy spent 11 seasons with AS FAR Rabat, where she collected a substantial haul of domestic and continental honours before beginning the next chapter of her career in France.

FC Fleury 91, based in Ile-de-France, have secured her services on a deal running for two years. The club announced the agreement through an official statement published on its social media channels on Wednesday.

Her move comes around a week and a half after Morocco’s third-place play-off at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026, bringing an end to a lengthy association with AS FAR Rabat and giving the experienced attacker a new challenge in European football.
