Morocco will begin their U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign on Sunday with a crucial opening match against Uganda.
Head coach Nabil Baha emphasized the importance of a positive start as his team aims to make history in the tournament, which runs from March 30 to April 19 in Morocco.
Speaking at a press conference in Casablanca, Baha expressed confidence in his squad’s preparation, revealing that they have engaged in rigorous training and participated in several international tournaments to refine their tactical approach.
“We are well prepared for this AFCON,” he stated. However, he acknowledged that Morocco faces a challenging group, requiring a high level of performance from the outset.
The Atlas Cubs will be counting on strong home support to propel them through the competition, with the ultimate ambition of securing their first-ever U17 AFCON title.
“Our goal is to win the African Cup of Nations in this category for the first time,” Baha affirmed, underscoring his belief in the squad’s potential.
As the tournament begins, Morocco’s young talents are determined to deliver a strong performance and set the tone for a successful campaign.
The opening match against Uganda will be a crucial test of their credentials as they seek continental glory.
