Morocco defender Omar Jerrari completes free transfer to OC Safi

Morocco left-back Omar Jerrari has joined OC Safi on a free transfer from Beni Mellal, completing a move that keeps the 31-year-old defender in Moroccan football.

Jerrari’s switch was completed on 13 August 2026 after his spell with Beni Mellal. He becomes an OC Safi player following a career spent entirely with clubs in Morocco, having also represented Difaa El Jadida, Union Touarga, Wydad Fes, AS FAR Rabat and MAS Fes.

The El Jadida-born defender began his senior career with Difaa El Jadida after progressing from the club’s under-21 side. He moved to Union Touarga in 2016 before joining Wydad Fes two years later. In 2019, Jerrari signed for AS FAR Rabat, where he won the Moroccan cup in the 2020-21 season.

Jerrari left AS FAR for MAS Fes in July 2022 and subsequently moved to Difaa El Jadida in 2024. He joined Beni Mellal on 1 January 2026 before making his latest move to OC Safi.

The left-footed defender has recorded 139 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi, scoring three goals and providing 11 assists. He has also made 13 appearances in the Moroccan Throne Cup, with one goal and one assist, and played twice in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Standing 1.77m tall, Jerrari is a specialist left-back and joins OC Safi with extensive domestic experience. His career record includes more than 10,000 minutes in the Botola Pro Inwi, reflecting his long involvement in Morocco’s top-flight competition.

Jerrari’s arrival continues a sequence of moves between Moroccan clubs in recent seasons. Before joining OC Safi, he had moved from MAS Fes to Difaa El Jadida, then to Beni Mellal, with each of those transfers completed without a fee.

The transfer adds another established Moroccan defender to OC Safi’s squad, with Jerrari now registered as a player for the club after completing his free transfer from Beni Mellal.
