Morocco defender Hamza Merakna joins Hilal Nador on free transfer

Morocco centre-back Hamza Merakna has joined Hilal Nador on a free transfer from CM El Marsa, completing his move on 18 September 2026.

The 26-year-old defender arrives after less than a year with CM El Marsa, where he moved from USM Oujda in January 2026, also on a free transfer. Merakna now becomes part of the Hilal Nador squad as the club adds a right-footed central defender to its ranks.

Merakna was born in Fes on 23 May 2000 and stands 1.85m tall. He has recorded appearances in both the Coupe du Trone Marocaine and the Excellence Cup, playing 90 minutes in each competition.

His move to Hilal Nador continues a series of free transfers during his recent career. Before joining CM El Marsa, Merakna spent time with USM Oujda, having arrived at the club in January 2024. He previously played for Sidi Hrazam and CdS Adrissa, with his move from CdS Adrissa to Sidi Hrazam also completed without a transfer fee in July 2020.

Merakna’s latest switch represents his third club change since the beginning of 2024, following his move to USM Oujda and subsequent transfer to CM El Marsa. The defender now continues his career with Hilal Nador after completing the free transfer from CM El Marsa.
