Morocco: Dates for Botola Pro 1 postponed matches rescheduled
Botola Pro 1 has issued a revised timetable for its postponed fixtures, just hours after initially announcing dates for Rounds 10 and 11 amid a wave of controversy surrounding the decision.
“The National Professional Football League announces the rescheduling of the postponed matches of rounds 10 and 11 of the Professional Championship, following the international break for national team commitments,” the League stated.
The latest development comes after several clubs invoked their legal rights under paragraph 6 of Article 20 of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s competition regulations.
The provision permits the League to reassess match scheduling in a manner that balances the interests of all stakeholders, even where prior agreement on dates had been reached.
According to the professional league, the adjustment is intended to ensure that players called up to the Moroccan national team are able to perform under optimal conditions while on international duty.
Botola Pro added that a detailed schedule for the rescheduled fixtures will be communicated through its official platforms at a later date.
Meanwhile, all attention in Morocco has shifted to the Atlas Lions’ camp as they prepare for their friendly matches in March. The Moroccan national team is set to face off with Ecuador on March 27 and will also play against Paraguay on March 31.
The two friendly matches are part of the team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
