Difaâ Hassani of El Jadida (DHJ) secured victory in the Throne Cup final on Monday by defeating Raja of Casablanca in a penalty shootout (5-4) after the match ended in a goalless draw during regulation time and overtime. This triumph marks DHJ’s first Throne Cup trophy, and it comes after three previous unsuccessful attempts in the competition’s final.

Despite being ranked 8th after 9 days, DHJ managed to clinch the title, showcasing their determination and resilience. Established on June 6, 1956, through the merger of two neighborhood teams, Difaâ d’Essafa’ and Hassania de la Médina, DHJ has now added a significant trophy to its history.

The technical sheet for the final lists key players from both teams, with DHJ’s Zouhair Laaroubi, Adil Sassa, and others contributing to the team’s success. Raja de Casablanca, the 2012 Throne Cup winner, faced tough competition but fell short in the penalty shootout.

The victory underscores DHJ’s commitment and determination, making this triumph a historic moment for the club.
