Reports suggesting discord between Walid Al-Rakraki, the coach of the Moroccan national team, and his assistant Ghrib Amzine have circulated, leading to Amzine’s departure from the coaching staff of the Atlas Lions following the team’s return from the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Moroccan national team bid farewell to the Africa Cup of Nations with a 0-2 loss against South Africa in the tournament’s round of 16.
While some reports hinted at disagreements as the reason behind Ghrib Amzine’s exit from the coaching staff, Al-Rakraki clarified the situation during a press conference ahead of the friendly match against Angola.
Al-Rakraki denied any conflicts with Ghrib Amzine, affirming that he sought to inject new blood into the coaching staff of the Atlas Lions.
This objective was achieved with the arrival of Abdelaziz Bouhazama.
Furthermore, a new fitness coach has been recruited from France to work with the Moroccan national team.
