The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has parted ways with its national technical director, Nasser Larguet, earlier this month. Following his departure, the federation is reportedly considering French coach Bruno Génésio as a potential replacement, according to L’Equipe.

Génésio, who recently left Olympique Lyonnais at the end of his contract, will not be offered an extension, despite earlier speculation to the contrary. Morocco appears to be targeting him for the role, and sources indicate he could potentially succeed Hervé Renard after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, Génésio is not the only candidate under consideration. Other names linked to the technical director position include Belgian coach Ariel Jacobs and French tactician Christian Gourcuff. The FRMF is reportedly evaluating several options as it looks to appoint a leader capable of guiding Moroccan football through its next phase, both at the national team level and in broader technical development.

With Morocco seeking continuity and expertise following recent successes under Renard and Larguet, the decision on the new technical director will be crucial in shaping the country’s footballing strategy ahead of major tournaments.
