Morocco: Botola Pro champions to pocket MAD 10m prize from 2026-27 season

The winners of Morocco’s Botola Pro “Inwi” will receive MAD 10 million from the 2026-27 season, National Professional Football League (LNFP) president Abdessalam Belkchour has announced.

The new prize, equivalent to one billion centimes, represents a significant increase in the financial reward for the club that finishes top of Morocco’s professional league.

Belkchour announced the decision on August 28, saying the move is intended to increase the financial value of the competition and strengthen the rewards available to Moroccan clubs.

Bigger prize raises stakes

The increased prize comes ahead of the start of the 2026-27 Botola Pro campaign, which is scheduled to begin on September 24.

The financial incentive is expected to add further intensity to the title race, with Morocco’s leading clubs set to compete for both domestic success and the substantial reward.

Raja Casablanca, Wydad Casablanca, AS FAR and RS Berkane are among the clubs expected to challenge for the championship.

Major clashes await

The new campaign is set for an intriguing start, with AS FAR scheduled to host Raja Casablanca in the opening round.

Wydad will face AS FAR in a highly anticipated encounter in the eighth round, while the first Casablanca derby between Raja and Wydad is scheduled for the 11th round.

The return derby will take place in the 26th round as the title race reaches its decisive stages.

LNFP targets stronger competition

The increase in prize money forms part of wider efforts by the LNFP to enhance the value and competitiveness of Morocco’s domestic professional league.

With MAD 10 million now awaiting the champions, clubs have an additional financial incentive to compete for the Botola Pro title as Morocco prepares for the new season.

The bigger prize is expected to make an already competitive championship even more valuable for the country’s top clubs.
