Morocco begin 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign in Group A

Under Mohamed Wahbi, Morocco will begin their challenge for a place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations with a Group A campaign against Gabon, Niger and Lesotho.

The Atlas Lions are regarded as one of the leading contenders for the tournament after producing impressive performances, particularly on the international stage. Their qualifying schedule includes home and away fixtures against each of the three teams in their group.

Morocco’s opening match is against Gabon on Friday, 25 September 2026. The game is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 Morocco time, or 22:00 in Saudi Arabia, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.

The result listed for the fixture is 0-2.

Morocco will then travel to face Lesotho on Tuesday, 29 September 2026. That match is scheduled to start at 13:00 Morocco time and 16:00 Saudi Arabia time, with Toyota listed as the venue.

The remaining matches are scheduled within the following international windows, although the exact dates and kick-off times have not yet been confirmed.

Morocco are due to play Niger at home between 9 and 17 November 2026, before travelling to face Niger in the return fixture during the same window.

Their away match against Gabon is listed for 22-30 March 2026, followed by the home meeting with Lesotho during the same period. The precise dates, kick-off times and results for those matches have not been announced.
