Raja Casablanca are preparing for a tough away fixture against Club Meknes on Sunday evening, with kick off scheduled for 6 pm at the Honorary Stadium in Meknes, as the National Professional Championship reaches its 11th round.
The Green Eagles will be forced into a change at the back, as defender Abdellah Khafifi is ruled out of the encounter due to suspension. Khafifi picked up his fourth yellow card of the season during Raja’s previous league outing against Renaissance Zemamra in the tenth round.
With Khafifi unavailable, head coach Fadlo Davies is expected to turn to experienced centre back Badr Bannon to shore up the defence. The Moroccan defender is set to reclaim his place in the starting line-up after spending the last two matches on the bench against Union Touarga and Renaissance Zemamra.
Bannon’s anticipated return comes at a time when Raja will be keen to maintain momentum following an emphatic 3-0 home victory over Renaissance Zemamra last Sunday.
That convincing win lifted Raja Casablanca to third place on the table with 19 points, sitting just one point behind joint leaders Maghreb Fez and Wydad Casablanca, who are level on 20 points, and narrowly ahead of FAR Rabat on 18 points.
