Badou Zaki, a former glory of the Atlas Lions, has announced his candidacy to become the coach of the Moroccan national football team. Expressing his readiness to serve his country, Zaki emphasized that his service record speaks for itself and that he is willing to take on the responsibility without hesitation.
“It is my duty to announce that I am at the disposal of the federation. I do not need to submit my CV; the Federation knows my service record, and they know that I will not refuse to serve my country. We have the deadline of the CAN 2015 to prepare for as seriously as possible,” Zaki declared during the program ‘Al Marrikh Riyadi.’
Having previously served as the coach from 2002 to 2006, Zaki led Morocco to the final of the 2004 CAN in Tunisia.
Meanwhile, Pim Verbeek, the current national technical director in charge of Morocco’s youth selection, declined an offer to act as interim coach for Morocco’s next friendly match against Mali. Ultimately, Hassan Benabicha accepted the role.
