AS FAR Hit with Stadium Ban Following Fan Violence
By BBC Sport | Football – Morocco

Moroccan club AS FAR has been handed a four-match stadium ban, including their upcoming Coupe du Trône semi-final, following violent incidents involving their supporters during a recent league match against Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi (DHJ).

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) issued the punishment after its disciplinary committee convened on 21 October to review video footage and reports from the match. The committee classified the conduct of AS FAR fans as acts of hooliganism and unsportsmanlike behaviour.

In addition to playing four games behind closed doors, the Rabat-based club has been fined 30,000 Moroccan Dirhams — approximately €2,700. The FRMF described the sanction as necessary to maintain order and send a clear message against violence in football stadiums.

The incidents have cast a shadow over what has been a promising season for AS FAR, one of Morocco’s most decorated clubs. Their semi-final fixture in the prestigious national cup competition will now go ahead without the presence of home supporters — a significant blow in terms of atmosphere and morale.

This latest case adds to a growing list of disciplinary issues linked to crowd trouble in North African football, raising concerns about security and fan conduct.

The FRMF has reiterated its commitment to enforcing strict disciplinary measures to preserve the integrity of the sport and ensure the safety of all participants.
