Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi has made headlines off the field by purchasing Spanish lower-division club Ciudad de Getafe.
The acquisition was confirmed by French outlet Le10Sport, citing Hakimi’s agent, Alejandro Camaño, who revealed that the deal was completed quietly behind the scenes.
“He wanted to give back to the club where it all began,” Camaño stated.
Hakimi’s latest venture reflects a growing trend among elite footballers taking ownership roles in clubs, similar to Kylian Mbappé’s purchase of French outfit Caen last year.
The move also underscores Hakimi’s commitment to nurturing young talent and giving back to grassroots football.
On the pitch, Hakimi continues to shine. He was recently named Ligue 1’s Best African Player and earned a spot in the league’s Team of the Season, joining eight PSG teammates in the prestigious lineup.
He also received praise from the Marc-Vivien Foé Award panel, presented by RFI and France 24, which highlighted his “blistering pace, razor-sharp movement, and lethal precision in the final third” — qualities that elevate him beyond the role of a traditional defender.
Hakimi played a key role in PSG securing their third consecutive Ligue 1 title and is now focused on helping the club clinch its first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy.
PSG will face Inter Milan in the final on May 31 at the Allianz Arena, where Hakimi is expected to be a central figure in manager Luis Enrique’s plans.
