Moroccan wonderkid Ayoub Bouaddi named in Manchester City squad for Porto Champions League clash

Moroccan youngster Ayoub Bouaddi has been named in Manchester City’s squad for their UEFA Champions League clash against Porto on Tuesday.

City manager Enzo Maresca has selected a 22-man travelling squad for the opening round of the 2026/27 Champions League league stage, with the English side set to face the Portuguese giants at the Estádio do Dragão.

Bouaddi, who recently joined the Premier League champions, has been included in the squad alongside several of the club’s other new arrivals, including Enzo Fernandez, Elliott Anderson and Iliman Ndiaye.

The highly-rated Moroccan midfielder will be hoping to earn his opportunity to make an impact on the European stage as City begin another quest for Champions League glory.

The youngster has quickly found himself among some of the biggest names in world football, with Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Ruben Dias and Gianluigi Donnarumma also included in Maresca’s squad.

However, City will travel to Portugal without Jeremy Doku and Nico Aurelie, who have both been ruled out due to injury.

Bouaddi’s inclusion represents another significant moment for the talented Moroccan, who will be looking to establish himself in Maresca’s plans following his move to the Etihad Stadium.
