Couhaib Driouech Linked with Rangers Move from PSV Eindhoven

Rangers have stepped up their pursuit of Moroccan winger Couhaib Driouech by submitting a reported offer worth around €7.5 million, although the proposed deal has yet to receive approval from PSV Eindhoven.

The Scottish club is eager to strengthen its attacking options before the close of the transfer window, but negotiations remain ongoing.

PSV have not accepted the bid, while the 24-year-old has also not reached personal terms with Rangers, leaving the potential transfer unresolved.

Despite the absence of a final agreement, sources close to the player have previously indicated that Driouech would be open to making the move if the clubs can reach common ground.

The winger’s future has become a topic of growing interest as competition for places at PSV continues to intensify. Driouech faces several rivals for a starting role on the left side of the attack, making regular first-team opportunities increasingly difficult to secure.

Ivan Perisic, Ruben van Bommel and Amir Bouhamdi are all currently ahead of him in the pecking order for the left-wing position.

PSV head coach Peter Bosz has also gained another option following the arrival of Filip Kostic, who, despite being signed primarily as a left-back, is capable of operating further forward on the left flank.

That growing competition has fuelled speculation over Driouech’s future, with Rangers emerging as one of the clubs showing concrete interest in securing his services.

The Moroccan winger enhanced his reputation during the previous campaign through a series of eye-catching performances, particularly in European competition.

He enjoyed memorable moments in the UEFA Champions League, including scoring twice against Liverpool at Anfield before adding another goal against Napoli on home soil.

Those displays attracted attention beyond the Netherlands and reinforced his reputation as an exciting attacking player capable of making a difference on the biggest stage.

Driouech joined PSV Eindhoven in 2024 after completing a €3.5 million move from Excelsior. Since arriving at the Dutch club, he has featured in 61 matches across all competitions, establishing himself as a valuable member of the squad despite the increasing competition for places.

The Moroccan international remains under contract with PSV for another three years, placing the Eredivisie club in a strong negotiating position. As a result, Rangers may need to continue discussions if they hope to convince PSV to sanction the transfer.

For now, the proposed move remains unresolved. While Rangers have made their intentions clear with a formal offer, both clubs must still reach an agreement before Driouech can consider beginning a new chapter of his career in Scottish football.
