Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri faces uncertain future as Fenerbahçe explore January exit options

Fenerbahçe have started to evaluate the possibility of moving on from Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri, with the Turkish club already sounding out potential replacements for the upcoming winter transfer window.

Reports from Turkey, including coverage by Takvim, state that senior figures at the club have begun searching for a new centre-forward and remain open to allowing En-Nesyri to depart if the right offer arrives in January.

This shift comes as the club reassesses its attacking options for the second half of the season.

The hesitation around the striker reportedly stems from his performances in high-pressure fixtures.

According to the same sources, En-Nesyri has failed to register a single goal or assist in seven derby appearances against arch-rivals Galatasaray—an issue that has prompted internal discussions about the need for a more decisive presence in major matches.

Despite this, En-Nesyri continues to show solid output in other competitions.

He has scored eight goals in 23 games so far this season, building on last year’s strong campaign in which he finished as the club’s top scorer.

His overall contribution keeps him an important figure in Fenerbahçe’s attack, even as questions emerge about his long-term role.

Interest from Europe is already forming. The Turkish outlet Fanatik reports that both AC Milan and AS Roma are monitoring the situation closely.

With En-Nesyri under contract until June 2029, Fenerbahçe still retain control over his future, giving the club leverage should negotiations begin.

The coming weeks will determine whether the Moroccan forward remains central to Fenerbahçe’s plans or becomes one of the major moves of the January window.
