Moroccan international striker Hamza Igamane, who plays for French club Lille, has undergone knee surgery after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal.
The operation was performed on Wednesday and marked the first major step in his long road to recovery.
Igamane reassured fans by sharing a photo from his hospital bed on social media, confirming that the surgery went smoothly and in good conditions. He also expressed his gratitude to the medical staff for their care and to everyone who supported him with encouraging messages during this difficult moment.
The injury is expected to rule the young forward out of action for several months, depriving both Lille and the Moroccan national team of one of their promising attacking talents. This forced the French club’s management to move quickly in the transfer market to secure a replacement capable of leading the front line in his absence.
Despite the setback, Igamane’s positive message and calm demeanor have given supporters hope that he will return stronger, ready to pick up his career where he left off once his rehabilitation is complete.
