Moroccan star Abde Ezzalzouli turns down possible Barcelona return
Abdessamad Ezzalzouli has emerged as one of the standout names ahead of the summer transfer window, but a return to FC Barcelona now appears increasingly unlikely.
The Real Betis winger has enjoyed an impressive season, reestablishing himself as a decisive figure at club level while also strengthening his role with the Moroccan national team. His performances have placed him firmly on the radar of several clubs, though Betis are reportedly holding out for a fee of no less than €40 million.
According to reports from Sport, the Moroccan international’s priority remains consistent game time and the ability to feel influential on a weekly basis. That desire has played a major role in his recent rise, allowing him to perform with confidence and consistency.
However, his future remains uncertain, shaped by multiple factors including the broader financial landscape, the structure of his current contract, and a 20 per cent sell-on clause held by Barcelona.
Despite his history with the Catalan club, a return is considered unlikely at this stage. Concerns over limited playing opportunities at Barcelona have reportedly discouraged the player, who is unwilling to revisit a situation where his role is not guaranteed.
Meanwhile, the Premier League is emerging as a strong potential destination. Any move to England, however, would depend on one crucial condition: a clear assurance of a significant role within a competitive and ambitious project.
