Moroccan giants, Wydad Athletic Club, are reportedly considering a move for Samouil Izountouemoi as they look to bolster their squad before the winter transfer window closes.
According to sources, initial talks have taken place after the player’s agent reached out to Wydad president Hicham Ait Mana. With mounting pressure from fans to reinforce the squad, the club is actively exploring options, particularly with the FIFA Club World Cup on the horizon this summer.
Izountouemoi, who recently terminated his contract with Swedish side Gefle Idrottsförening, is now available on a free transfer. Wydad have already made official contact with the player, signalling their intent to secure his services.
In addition to Izountouemoi, Wydad are also close to finalizing a deal for Hamza Hannouri, the top scorer of FUS Rabat. Meanwhile, the club is awaiting approval from head coach Sven Vandenbroeck before concluding a separate deal for a Nigerian striker.
