Moroccan referee to officiate crucial World Cup qualifier between Kenya and Ivory Coast

The Referees Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has appointed a Moroccan officiating team to oversee the pivotal match between Kenya and Ivory Coast in the fourth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Leading the officiating team is seasoned Moroccan referee Jalal Jayed, who will be assisted by Hassan Azgaou and Fatiha Jermoumi. Mustafa Kachaf has been designated as the fourth official for this high-stakes encounter.

Scheduled for June 11, this match sees Kenya hosting group leaders Ivory Coast.

The fixture is crucial for both teams’ World Cup aspirations, with Ivory Coast currently topping the group with six points, while Kenya trails in third place with three points.
