Moroccan outfit RS Berkane are looking forward to sign Uganda international Steven Mukwala in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The former Asante Kotoko star has emerged as a top transfer target for several clubs on the African continent including Berkane and Kaizer Chiefs following an impressive performance in the just ended campaign.
Mukwala, whose contract expires in summer 2027 racked up 12 goals in 11 Tanzanian Premier League matches for Simba SC, making him one of the continent’s most prolific forwards.
The Moroccan outfit has $300,000 offer for the signing of the Uganda international, making them the frontrunner in the race for Mukwala.
Simba SC are seeking for a higher price for their striker, which has weakened Kaizer Chiefs’ position.
Mukwala could join Berkane if the South African outfit are unable to hijack the move with a concrete bid.
Both teams are keen on strengthening their team for the upcoming campaign as they seek to make a meaningful impact.
