Sevilla have opened negotiations with Fenerbahce for the signing of Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat, according to reports from transfer specialist Matteo Moretto.
The Spanish side are pushing for a loan deal that would see them cover his €5 million annual salary, while the Turkish giants are holding out for a permanent transfer worth around €20 million.
Although Sevilla are prioritising a loan, Fenerbahce are not completely against the arrangement and are prepared to consider proposals before the window shuts.
The 29-year-old midfielder is also drawing significant interest across Europe, with Juventus, Inter Milan and Atalanta all establishing contact.
Inter are expected to table an official bid shortly, while AC Milan are carefully monitoring developments.
Amrabat has not been short of offers from Saudi Arabia, where several clubs are lining up lucrative contracts. However, sources close to the player maintain that his preference remains competing at the highest level in Europe, which gives Sevilla and Italy’s top clubs an edge in negotiations.
This is not Amrabat’s first brush with La Liga interest. Atletico Madrid pursued him heavily in 2024 before his switch to Fenerbahce, while Barcelona also considered him as a cost-effective replacement for Sergio Busquets.
His performances in Turkey have only reinforced his reputation as a tenacious and reliable midfielder capable of dictating play.
For Sevilla, who earned their first victory of the campaign at the weekend, Amrabat represents a strategic addition to Matias Almeyda’s squad.
