Moroccan midfielder Selim Amallah joins UAE side Khorfakkan

UAE Pro League club Khorfakkan have announced the signing of Moroccan international Selim Amallah on a free transfer following his departure from Spanish outfit Real Valladolid.

The 28-year-old midfielder has penned a two-year contract reportedly worth around $1.2 million per season.

Amallah was a key figure for Valladolid in the 2023/24 campaign, making 25 appearances — including 18 starts — and contributing three goals and one assist.

Before his time in Spain, the Moroccan star had a loan stint with Valencia and rose to prominence at Belgian side Standard Liège. He was also an integral part of Morocco’s memorable run to the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

At Khorfakkan, Amallah will link up with fellow Moroccans Tarik Tissoudali and Akram Nakash.
