The Moroccan Lawyers Association has announced a firm legal move against the president of the Senegalese Football Federation, following statements it described as degrading and institutionally slanderous.
In an official communiqué, the club said the Senegalese official crossed all boundaries of sporting criticism by accusing Morocco of “manipulating CAF” and exercising hidden influence. The statement considered these claims a desperate attempt to justify his “organizational failure and structural shortcomings” by promoting a conspiracy narrative that undermines the cohesion of African football.
Moroccan lawyers stressed that such irresponsible remarks do not only insult Moroccan and African sporting bodies, but also represent a clear violation of integrity and neutrality principles imposed by FIFA and CAF regulations. Procedurally, the club confirmed it has activated legal proceedings based on Article 60 of the FIFA Code of Ethics and Article 43 of the CAF Disciplinary Code.
The goal is to open a judicial and disciplinary investigation that could expose the official to heavy sanctions, including multi‑year suspensions and significant financial penalties.
The communiqué underlined that the dignity of Moroccan football and the sovereignty of its institutions are a red line.
It added that these values cannot be sacrificed to satisfy “populist maneuvers” driven by sporting frustrations, affirming that the Moroccan Lawyers Association will pursue the case as far as necessary to ensure that anyone who attempts to damage Morocco’s sporting reputation through lies and systematic defamation is held accountable.
