Morocco midfielder Ismaël Saibari arrives in Munich to begin Bayern Munich move
Moroccan international Ismaël Saibari has arrived in Munich to begin the next stage of his career with Bayern Munich, with the Bundesliga champions preparing to officially present one of their biggest signings of the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder landed in the Bavarian city on Wednesday morning, less than two weeks after Bayern confirmed his transfer from PSV Eindhoven. His arrival marks the beginning of preparations before joining the club’s first-team squad ahead of the new season.
According to Bild, Saibari arrived at Oberpfaffenhofen Airport, west of Munich, at 9:56am local time. He was accompanied by his agent, Ali Dursun, as well as several members of his family.
Upon his arrival, the Moroccan international was welcomed by Bayern Munich team manager Sonny Scherer before heading to the club’s facilities to complete the next steps of his introduction.
Bayern are expected to formally unveil Saibari during a presentation scheduled for later on Wednesday. The midfielder will wear the number 34 shirt as he embarks on a new challenge in German football following his move from the Dutch Eredivisie.
The transfer, reported to be worth around €55 million, represents one of Bayern’s most significant investments during the current transfer window. The club hopes Saibari will strengthen its midfield options as it prepares for domestic and European competitions.
Despite the excitement surrounding his arrival, Bayern are expected to take a cautious approach to the player’s immediate involvement.
According to Bild, Saibari is currently recovering from a thigh injury sustained during Morocco’s Round of 16 match against Canada at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The issue means his first days at the club will focus on medical assessments before any decision is made regarding his return to full training.
The Moroccan midfielder is due to undergo a series of examinations under the supervision of Dr. Jochen Hahne and Bayern Munich’s medical department.
The evaluations are expected to determine the extent of the injury and provide a clearer timeline for his return to action.
The results will also help Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany decide when the new signing can be integrated into pre-season sessions with the rest of the squad.
Although the injury presents an early challenge, Bayern remain optimistic about what Saibari can offer once he regains full fitness.
His arrival has generated considerable anticipation among the club’s supporters, who view the Moroccan as an important addition to Bayern’s midfield following his successful spell with PSV Eindhoven.
For Saibari, the move represents another major milestone in his career as he prepares to test himself in the Bundesliga with one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
While attention now turns to his official presentation and medical evaluation, Bayern’s newest signing will be hoping to recover quickly and begin making his mark in Munich.
