Juventus have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri, with the club’s sporting director, Marco Ottolini, travelling to Istanbul to hold talks with Fenerbahçe over a potential winter transfer.
Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that En-Nesyri has become Juventus’ priority for the centre-forward position, as the club seeks to strengthen its attacking options during the January window. “Juventus’ mission to Turkey for En-Nesyri has officially begun,” the publication notes.
The move comes amid increasing competition from Europe’s top clubs. Premier League side Aston Villa and Serie A rivals Napoli are also reported to be monitoring the Moroccan international, while Goal.com describes him as “one of the key players of this winter transfer window,” highlighting his appeal across the continent.
En-Nesyri, 29, has enjoyed a rapid rise from the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco to the top levels of European football.
His career has included notable spells in La Liga and the Süper Lig, where he has been among the most prolific forwards, while also making an impact for the Moroccan national team, the Atlas Lions.
Italian media suggest that Juventus’ quick approach is designed to pre-empt rivals and secure the striker before competition intensifies.
TuttoMercato adds that his proven scoring record and versatility make him a highly sought-after asset for clubs seeking a striker capable of immediately influencing results.
While negotiations are ongoing, Juventus face the challenge of convincing Fenerbahçe to part with one of their key players mid-season, with financial terms and personal conditions expected to play a decisive role.
En-Nesyri’s potential arrival would represent a major boost for the Serie A giants as they aim to solidify their squad for the second half of the campaign.
