Moroccan midfielder Malcom Sylas Edjouma Laouari is in advanced negotiations with Raja Casablanca, with a potential return to African football this transfer window.

A free agent following the expiration of his last contract, Edjouma is among the key players the Casablanca club is considering to strengthen its midfield.

At 29, Edjouma has built a career across Europe, combining technical skill with tactical discipline.

Born in Toulouse on 8 October 1996, he began his career in France with Balma before progressing through the reserve team of Châteauroux and later making a name for himself at Belfort thanks to his versatility and physical presence in midfield.

A move to Concarneau gave him regular playing time, paving the way for his first overseas experience in Romania with Viitorul Constanța.

He also spent time in Belgium with Roeselare before returning to Romania with Botoșani, where he became a key starter.

In 2022, Edjouma joined FCSB (Steaua Bucharest), appearing in over 90 matches, scoring more than ten goals, providing multiple assists, and competing in European competitions.

The 2023/24 season saw Edjouma loaned to Bari in Italy’s Serie B, where he made 22 league appearances, scoring twice and gaining further experience in one of Europe’s tactically demanding leagues.

Eligible for multiple national teams, Edjouma chose to represent Morocco, demonstrating his commitment to his roots and the national team.

His physical strength, ability to operate as both a defensive and box-to-box midfielder, and proficiency in duels and shooting make him an attractive addition for clubs seeking immediate impact.

Raja Casablanca’s interest signals a potential high-profile signing.

If talks are successful, Edjouma would bring leadership, European experience, and versatility to the squad at a time when the club aims to reinforce its midfield with proven talent.

Negotiations are ongoing, and a final agreement could see the Moroccan international return to domestic football soon.
