Moroccan-French defender Anas Namri strengthens RFC Seraing in free move
Moroccan-French right-back Anas Namri has joined RFC Seraing from RE Virton on a free transfer, adding a 24-year-old defender to the Belgian Challenger Pro League side’s squad.
Namri has signed a contract with Seraing running until 30 June 2027. The Paris-born player is a right-footed full-back who stands 1.68m tall and has represented both Morocco and France as his nationalities.
The move keeps Namri in the Challenger Pro League after his two-year spell with RE Virton. He moved to Virton from Saint-Etienne B in July 2023, also on a free transfer, and made the switch to Seraing on 12 August 2026.
Namri has played across the Belgian and French lower divisions during his career. His record in 1ste Nationale FFA includes 38 appearances and two goals, while he also made 26 appearances in National 3, scoring once and providing three assists.
He began his senior club career with ESTAC Troyes B after progressing from Troyes’ under-19 side. Namri joined Saint-Etienne B in July 2022 before moving to Belgium the following year.
His experience also includes four appearances in the Croky Cup and four in Ligue 2, along with one Coupe de France outing. He has been used primarily at right-back, the position in which he has established his senior career.
Seraing’s new signing arrives with experience of both Belgian and French football, having played for clubs including RE Virton, Saint-Etienne B and ESTAC Troyes B. His arrival provides the club with an established option on the right side of defence as they continue their campaign in Belgium’s second tier.
Namri’s career record also includes 19 appearances in 1N FFA PRO PO, 16 in National 3 – Grp. K, 10 in 1ste Nationale and six in the National U19 competition. He has additionally featured once in Ligue 1, although no appearances are recorded in that competition.
The 24-year-old’s move to RFC Seraing was completed on 12 August 2026, with his contract set to run through the end of June 2027.
