Moroccan international Tawfik Bentayeb has expressed his satisfaction with life at Belgian club Anderlecht, revealing that the warm reception from his teammates and the technical staff has helped him settle quickly following his arrival during the summer transfer window.
The forward is enjoying his early experience in Belgium and believes Anderlecht’s style of play suits his technical qualities, providing him with an ideal environment to showcase his attacking abilities and continue developing as a player.
According to the Moroccan attacker, the welcoming atmosphere within the squad has made the transition into a new footballing environment considerably easier, allowing him to adapt to his teammates and the demands of his new surroundings.
Bentayeb also credited fellow Moroccan international Ali Maamar for helping him feel at home even before he officially joined the club’s training setup.
The Anderlecht defender reached out to Bentayeb through Instagram after learning that his compatriot would be moving from Morocco to Belgium, offering him a warm welcome ahead of his arrival.
“Ali was the first person to welcome me here with open arms. When he learned that I would be joining Anderlecht from Morocco, he immediately sent me a message on Instagram to welcome me,” Bentayeb said.
The gesture helped establish an early connection between the two Moroccans, with Maamar’s presence providing Bentayeb with a familiar face as he begins a new chapter in his career.
Beyond his club experience, Bentayeb also reflected on his relationship with Morocco and the pride he felt when he first represented the national team.
The forward described earning his first opportunity with the Moroccan national side as the fulfilment of a childhood dream, emphasising the significance of the achievement for both himself and his family.
Despite relocating to Belgium to pursue his professional ambitions, Bentayeb remains closely connected to his roots. He continues to maintain regular contact with his family and friends in Morocco while balancing the demands of training, matches and adapting to life abroad.
The Moroccan international is now focused on building on his encouraging start at Anderlecht, earning more playing opportunities and demonstrating the attacking qualities that convinced the Belgian club to bring him on board.
With the support of his teammates and coaching staff, Bentayeb will hope to continue settling into Belgian football and establish himself as an important contributor to Anderlecht’s ambitions this season.
