Wydad Casablanca will begin their preparations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at the state-of-the-art Mohammed VI Football Complex, courtesy of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
The facility, which regularly hosts Morocco’s national team camps, has been placed at the club’s disposal as they gear up for their first appearance in the expanded Club World Cup, which kicks off later this year in the United States.
Wydad are expected to enter camp at the Mohammed VI Complex on Monday and will spend a full week there. The plan includes two friendly matches within the facility before the team departs for the U.S., where they are drawn into Group G alongside Manchester City, Juventus, and Al Ain.
The Casablanca-based giants are looking to sharpen their competitive edge following a narrow 1-0 defeat to La Liga side Sevilla last Tuesday at the Mohammed V Stadium. Another stern test awaits them on Saturday, when they host Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto at the same venue. That fixture will serve as their final domestic outing before entering the closed training camp.
The Moroccan federation’s support reflects the importance of Wydad’s Club World Cup campaign, with the tournament offering a global platform and significant exposure for both club and country. The Mohammed VI Complex, regarded as one of Africa’s finest training centres, offers elite-level facilities designed to support high-performance preparation.
Wydad will hope the conditions and intense warm-up programme provide the right foundation for a competitive showing against Europe’s elite in the United States.
This year’s Club World Cup will be the first to feature 32 teams in a World Cup-style format, and Wydad will look to carry the flag for Moroccan football as one of Africa’s leading representatives.
