Stade Rennais will be without Moroccan internationals Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal and Yasser Zabiri for their upcoming French league clash against Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled for 7 pm.
The team’s coach confirmed the squad list on Friday, and neither player featured due to injury concerns.
Ait Boudlal, who has become a key figure in Rennes’ defense, will miss the match following a muscle injury sustained during last Saturday’s game against Lens. The Moroccan centre-back was forced off the field in the 29th minute after experiencing a hamstring problem.
Medical tests have indicated that he requires rest and treatment, ruling him out of the fixture entirely.
Since his move from Famalicao in Portugal to Rennes, Ait Boudlal has yet to make a full appearance for his new club due to fitness setbacks. His absence is a significant blow to Rennes’ defensive setup.
Meanwhile, Yasser Zabiri will also miss the match, meaning he will not face off against his compatriot Achraf Hakimi, the Paris Saint-Germain star, on Monday.
The Moroccan duo’s absence will be keenly felt as Stade Rennais prepares to challenge one of the top sides in the French league.
