Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui praises Michael Carrick despite limited playing time at Manchester United
Noussair Mazraoui has spoken highly of his coach, Michael Carrick, despite his recent struggles for playing time at Manchester United.
The Moroccan international expressed admiration for Carrick’s qualities and leadership since taking over the managerial role following the departure of Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Mazraoui highlighted the manager’s deep connection with the club and the influence it has on his approach to coaching.
“Carrick has a long history at the club and you can see and feel that in his training style and the words he directs to us in his meetings with the players,” he said.
The Moroccan defender went on to emphasise the former midfielder’s strong understanding of the club’s identity and traditions.
“Carrick knows the club well and appreciates its value, because he has a great history here,” he added.
Mazraoui also pointed to the experience Carrick gained during his playing days with the club as an important factor in his leadership.
“Carrick has won big awards here, so he knows how things go in good times and bad times,” the full-back said.
The defender concluded by suggesting that the team’s recent performances reflect the positive impact of Carrick’s work with the squad.
“I think we have also shown that through the team’s recent matches, and this is not a coincidence, but rather the result of great effort, quality, and the coach’s understanding of the club,” Noussair shared.
