Moroccan defender Mohamed Chibi caught in bizarre medal mix-up during Egypt Cup celebration
Pyramids FC secured the Egyptian Cup title for the second time in the club’s history after edging ZED FC 2-1 on Sunday evening.
However, the post-match celebrations took an unexpected turn involving Moroccan defender Mohamed Chibi, who became the center of attention during the coronation ceremony.
The Moroccan international received a winner’s medal carrying the inscription “Women’s First Division League Championship, 2025-2026 Season,” in what appeared to be a remarkable organizational error.
The incident quickly drew reactions from fans and observers, especially after it emerged that the rest of the Pyramids squad were presented with medals correctly labeled “Egypt Cup Championship 2025-2026 Season.”
Despite the unusual mix-up, Chibi celebrated the triumph with his teammates as Pyramids added another major domestic trophy to their growing collection.
