Mohamed Amine Benhachem has responded to speculation surrounding his future at Wydad Casablanca, following reports suggesting that Hussein Ammouta could be set to return to manage the Moroccan giants.

Several Moroccan media outlets recently claimed that Wydad had reached an agreement with Ammouta to take charge of the team, with Benhachem reportedly on the verge of being dismissed.

Benhachem addressed the rumours during a press conference ahead of Wydad’s clash with Olympique Club de Safi in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter finals.

The Wydad manager firmly denied reports suggesting he was about to be sacked or that his departure from the club was imminent.

The coach acknowledged the criticism coming from sections of the club’s supporters but stressed that he understands their expectations and views the pressure as motivation to improve the team’s performances.

With no official statement from Wydad, a decision to sack the coach, Amine Benhachem, remains the club’s head coach.
