Moroccan clubs congratulate “Atlas Lions” following AFCON 2025 final declaration by CAF

The Moroccan football community has been quick to celebrate the national team after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeals Committee officially awarded Morocco the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, overturning Senegal’s on-field victory.

Several prominent Moroccan clubs issued statements congratulating the “Atlas Lions” and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for this historic achievement.

Raja Club Athletic was among the first to extend its warm congratulations, emphasising that the decision confirms the principles of sporting justice and respect for regulations within African competitions. The club praised the efforts of the players, coaching staff, and all team officials, noting the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s role in defending the interests of national football at the continental level.

Wydad Athletic Club also celebrated the team’s triumph, highlighting that the achievement reflects Morocco’s growing status in African and international football and embodies the discipline and work ethic that defined the squad’s journey throughout the tournament.

Other clubs followed suit. Hassania Agadir Club congratulated the national team, citing the victory as evidence of the high level that Moroccan football has attained and praising the players’ dedication and resilience. Ittihad Tanger Club specifically commended the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for its diligence and responsibility in pursuing justice for the national team, describing the CAF decision as a correction of the perceived injustice during the final.

Renaissance Berkane Club expressed pride in the national team’s crowning as African champions, highlighting that this title reflects Morocco’s prestigious position in continental football and the collective effort of all components of the squad during the competition.
