Mootez Abou Kacem: Tunisian playmaker joins JS Kairouan on free transfer
Tunisian attacking midfielder Mootez Abou Kacem has joined JS Kairouan on a free transfer from Al-Rayyan, signing a contract with the club until 30 June 2028.
Abou Kacem, who operates primarily as an attacking midfielder and is right-footed, moves back into Tunisian domestic football after a spell with Al-Rayyan. He will wear the number 10 shirt for his new side, underlining the creative role expected of him in the squad.
The switch marks a return to familiar surroundings for Abou Kacem, who previously played in Tunisia with AS Kasserine before heading to Al-Rayyan in 2025, also on a free transfer. His latest move again comes without a fee, allowing JS Kairouan to strengthen their attacking options without a transfer outlay.
During his recent campaigns, Abou Kacem has featured in the Tunisian Cup, making three appearances and accumulating almost 300 minutes on the pitch in that competition. His experience in domestic cup action adds further depth to JS Kairouan’s midfield ahead of the new season.
Abou Kacem’s contract through to 2028 gives JS Kairouan a long-term option in the central attacking midfield role as the club builds for the coming years.
