**Montpellier Coach Considers Benching Jonathan Ligali After Monaco Defeat**
Since Geoffrey Jourdren’s injury, Jonathan Ligali has been Montpellier’s first-choice goalkeeper. However, after a shaky performance in Thursday’s 2-3 loss to Monaco—where Ligali was at fault for two goals—coach Rolland Courbis is contemplating dropping the 24-year-old Franco-Beninese keeper for Sunday’s Ligue 1 match against Lorient.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Courbis said, “I’m giving myself 24 hours to decide on the goalkeeper for Sunday. It’s a fifty-fifty decision.” The experienced third-choice keeper Laurent Pionnier, 33, could be called upon to start if Ligali is benched.
