The tables could have turned in favor of the Ile-de-France club if it weren’t for the remarkable reflexes of Ivorian goalkeeper Siaka Tiéné. He made a crucial save to deny Edinson Cavani’s goal, who came in as a substitute during the game.
Cavani came close to scoring on his first touch, heading the ball towards the far post from a cross by Pastore. However, Tiéné, who joined Montpellier from PSG this summer, managed to deflect the shot narrowly with the tip of his foot in the 74th minute.
