Monsef Bekrar returns to full Al Ahli training during Spain camp
Algerian forward Monsef Bekrar has rejoined Al Ahli’s full team training as Hussein Ammouta’s side continues its preparations for the new season at a camp in Spain.
Bekrar took part in the squad’s collective session on Monday as Al Ahli maintained its intensive training programme ahead of the campaign. His return to group work was the main development from the day’s preparations.
Ammouta, Al Ahli’s head coach, held a meeting with the players on the training ground before the session began. During the meeting, he outlined several important points and addressed the requirements expected of the squad during the remainder of the Spanish camp.
The coach also praised the high level of concentration shown by the players. He urged them to continue giving their maximum effort in the sessions that follow as the team builds towards its first competitive challenges of the new season.
Training began with a focus on the physical side of the squad’s preparation. Players completed exercises designed to improve their fitness levels under the supervision of Al Ahli’s fitness coach.
The session then moved on to ball work, with the players divided into several groups. Ammouta oversaw a number of technical exercises and provided the squad with regular instructions throughout the football-based activities.
The coaching staff is continuing to follow the demanding training schedule planned for the team’s stay in Spain. The camp is intended to prepare Al Ahli physically and technically before the side’s prominent friendly against Barcelona.
Al Ahli will conclude the camp by facing Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy on 19 August. The match will provide the final scheduled test of the Spanish preparations and comes as the squad continues to work under Ammouta’s guidance.
The team’s programme has therefore combined fitness work, technical exercises and tactical instruction, with the coaching staff placing particular emphasis on concentration and commitment during training. Bekrar’s participation in the collective session gives him the opportunity to continue working alongside his team-mates as Al Ahli approaches the new season.
The meeting held by Ammouta, followed by the physical and ball-based exercises, formed the latest stage of the club’s preparations. Al Ahli will now continue its work in Spain before completing the camp against Barcelona on 19 August.
