Monaco and Toulouse have reached an agreement for the loan of Aymen Abdennour until the end of the season, with an option to purchase for four seasons included in the deal.
The arrival of the Tunisian defender adds depth to Monaco’s defensive lineup and provides strong competition for the Abidal-Ricardo duo, who have faced scrutiny during the first part of the championship. Vadim Vasilyev, the vice-president of AS Monaco, sees Abdennour as a valuable addition for the future of the club.
“Aymen Abdennour is a highly reliable defender with a unique profile that we lacked in the squad. He is young and will benefit from learning alongside experienced players like Ricardo Carvalho and Eric Abidal. The club has been monitoring him for a considerable period, and we are pleased to have reached an agreement with Toulouse to bring him to Monaco. Although he is currently dealing with a minor injury, he will have the opportunity to adapt during the second half of the season. This acquisition represents a strategic investment for the future,” stated Vasilyev.
