Monaco set for talks over Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis

AS Monaco are preparing to hold talks with the representatives of Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis as they continue efforts to strengthen their attacking options before the start of the season.

The 23-year-old Algeria international remains one of the priorities on Monaco’s transfer list, according to Abdel Hamed, with the club continuing to pursue a deal for the right-sided attacker.

Monaco’s interest in Ghedjemis is supported by the club’s head coach, who is understood to be convinced by the player’s qualities. The club’s senior figures, Thiago Scuro and Filipe Luis, are expected to meet Ghedjemis’ representatives during the course of this week in an attempt to move negotiations forward.

Those discussions could prove important in determining whether Monaco can make progress in a deal that is likely to be complicated by Frosinone’s position. Ghedjemis is under contract with the Italian club until 30 June 2028 and remains highly valued by his current employers.

That long-term agreement gives Frosinone a strong negotiating position, meaning Monaco will need to present a proposal capable of satisfying all parties. The Principality club’s interest is therefore not simply dependent on reaching an agreement with the player and his representatives; Frosinone must also be persuaded to allow the winger to leave.

According to Transfermarkt estimates, Ghedjemis currently has a market value of €7.5m. The next round of talks between Monaco, the player’s representatives and Frosinone could consequently have a decisive impact on both the future of the Algeria winger and the direction of the transfer discussions.

Africafoot has also reported exclusively that several clubs are interested in Ghedjemis, increasing the competition for his signature. Monaco’s planned meeting with his representatives will offer an opportunity to clarify the player’s position and assess whether the club can advance the transfer ahead of the new season.

For now, Ghedjemis remains contracted to Frosinone, but Monaco have not dropped their interest. The club’s continued focus on the winger, together with the backing of the coach and the scheduled meeting involving Scuro and Filipe Luis, indicates that the pursuit remains active.
