AS Monaco manager Adi Hutter has expressed disappointment after his side’s defeat to Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League following a series of errors from his defenders.
The Black Stars defender lasted the entire duration when the French outfit succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirate Stadium on Wednesday.
The former Southampton defender wasn’t at his best in the highly competitive clash.
Salisu’s second-half mistake gifted Arsenal their second goal, which was converted by forward Bukayo Saka. Kai Havertz intercepted a back pass from Salisu before Saka took advantage to double Arsenal’s lead with 12 minutes remaining.
The England forward had opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Harvetz sealed victory with two minutes remaining.
“At this level, it is not possible, not acceptable to make such mistakes that are downright gifts. And yet we were lucky that Arsenal missed a lot of opportunities,” he said after the game.
The mistake for the second goal proved crucial as it deemed Monaco’s improved display in the second half.
“On the other hand, I am really satisfied with the way we attacked the second half, playing the courageous football that I want to see,” continued Hutter.
“Once again we have a very young team, which was close to the equalizer. Unfortunately the gift on the second goal is too much at this level.”
